Firebird Medical
Firebird Medical is a multidisciplinary R&D company based in Ireland. Since 2008 the company has provided engineering support to small and large medical device companies.
Firebird Medical has also developed innovative Telecare technology for the detection and prevention of falls in people with mobility impairment conditions. The technology has been evaluated in non-critical situations and is currently available for commercial validation in care-homes and assisted living facilities (see products page).

John has managed small and large scale product developments with multi-national market leaders such as Beiersdorf AG, BSN Medical and Fastform Research.
In 2008, John co-founded Firebird Medical to create technology solutions for the emerging Telecare and Telehealth market.
Camelia Shanahan
As a co-founder of Firebird Medical, Camelia brings in her expertise spaning software development, medical textiles, technical fabrics and fashion knitwear design and development. Previous to this, Camelia provided engineering and design consultancy services to textile companies throughout Europe.
She holds a BSc. (Hons) in Textile Engineering (Knitting Technology) and a BSc. (Hons) in Software Development.
